Upgrading kids ST seat for a game
my kid can’t make Wolves game so going to bring my pal who is a hammer to his first game at the stadium. Ticket office would obviously want me to upgrade ticket to an adult for the match to make more £.... f*ck that.

My question is has anyone else entered using a kids ST? Anything to be aware of? Are there secret pressure pads on turnstiles or something :)

Anyone change a adult ticket to a kids one and got a refund.

Re: Upgrading kids ST seat for a game
Just upgrade it
unless you are a gambler
when you put it in the reader it will flash green but above the turnstyle inside the ground a green light will flash for an adult and an orange light for a concession ,so you wont get challenged if you look under 16 or over 65. if you are 35 you are likely to get challenged and I have seen people get tickets taken of them and sent back outside.its luck of the draw if they have just pulled someone their attention is on them and you could slip through.

I think that’s a Category B upgrade for £41 ..... which incredibly the Bournemouth game was. Cat C is around £30 but not many of those games and cat A is nearer £60

Re: Upgrading kids ST seat for a game
So spoke with Ticket office... they want £41 to upgrade my kids band 4 seat to an adult.

Was hoping it would be around £20-25 to upgrade to adult as a kids seat in the band is at £25 for match, but seeing as daughters ST only cost £100 for the season and full adult ticket would usually go for £45 for just this game, makes them about right.

I went to Anfield and got in with a kids ticket.

Probably doesn't help you.....

Re: Upgrading kids ST seat for a game
The Club now employ "revenue protectors" themselves rather than depend on stewards, who pull people up when the light flashes the wrong colour. They'll also suspend your kid's season ticket if caught.

Knowing how the club seem to be with these things, IF the steward bothers doing their job and you get caught I would expect them to be pretty heavy handed with you. Could end up losing your boy's ticket, at least for a while.

Is it worth it for the sake of saving a bit of cash? Probably not.

Go in 2 mins after the game kicks off and the stewards aren't there

Three of us an old gits have concessionary tickets. Whenever we can't make it one of our kids or nephews goes. Never been stopped in two years.

Ive never seen anyone stopped and the "stewards" are fucking useless, usually just talking amongst themselves.

I've got an old boys' ticket and that has always flashed green at the turnstile end.
Not sure if there's a light the other side of the turnstile though.

Re: Upgrading kids ST seat for a game
When an 'adult' ticket goes through a turnstile, a green light flashes
When a 'child' ticket goes through a turnstile, an orange light flashes

So if you upgrade the child ticket to an adult, when the upgraded ticket goes through the turnstile the green light will flash - that's how they check

Re: Upgrading kids ST seat for a game
Yep don’t risk it. Also bring along proof of the upgrade with you. I upgraded a ticket last season and it didn’t register when I went through. The security bloke took the card from him and escorted him out. Nazis man.

Cheers for feedback. Unfortunately my mate isn’t a midget so will likely upgrade then.
Be interesting to how much it’s going to cost and how it’s checked on the gate then.

Re: Upgrading kids ST seat for a game
You would be very unlucky for a steward to notice anything most of them just want to go home ASAP and have no desire to do the job in hand
Saying that a friend of mine did get caught last season and had his season ticket suspended for a while

Re: Upgrading kids ST seat for a game
Agree with fifth....luck of draw as to whether you get caught. I go through turnstiles F and some weeks theres 10 the other side and some weeks none.

If you get caught they clamp down on it and will probably kick you out

Fifth Column 8:48 Thu Aug 23
Re: Upgrading kids ST seat for a game
Some weeks there are loads of stewards on far side of turnstiles looking at what colour comes up on the turnstile that indicates what sort of ticket it is. They pull you up if you're using the wrong ticket. Other weeks there is one bloke who's not paying attention.

Get your friend to do a funny walk, pull a mong face and moan a bit.

Viable concession.

Re: Upgrading kids ST seat for a game
There's light that comes on when you enter the turnstile, different colour for concessions (inc kids) to full paying..
I get the impression this happens fairly regularly at the OS without issue, as far as I can make out, stewards are minimum wage lackeys with no affiliation to the club & cant be arsed with getting involved in anything potential aggro..
